"The Vanishing Act" delves into loss, abandonment, and the lingering effects of grief through manipulated collages. Found portrait photographs, stripped of their identities, become ciphers for the human experience. Fragmented and reassembled alongside AI-generated elements and found imagery, the figures transcend the personal, becoming symbolic representations of loss and abandonment. Drawing on visual echoes from my childhood, these works explore the complexities of memory and the enduring impact of loss, ultimately serving as a personal excavation of this profound emotion.
